An announcement and some thanks.

I am delighted to state that I have now completed the much-needed surgery to remove my gallbladder and am recovering at home.

I would personally like to give my sincerest thanks to the nursing staff at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treating me when I was at my most critical (not to mention saving my life) and Mr. Rhodes and his surgical team for so effectively and efficiently performing the cholesystectomy earlier today. I would also like to give a special mention to the senior doctor at Lewisham Hospital who made sure I was fit enough to return to East Anglia where I could be better looked after.

I am currently taking medications to recover and aim to be back in London and active in 5 days when the swelling and wounds have died down.

As always, I want to thank everyone who has supported me and have been an enormous help through all this.

Again, thankyou ever so much,

Health news and blog changes.

I have always praised the merits of the NHS as a system for as long as I have been politically active, however I have not needed it’s services until recently. As I mentioned about a month ago, I had health complications that have prevented me from being politically active – specifically acute pancreatitis which required immediate and ongoing medical support. In a few weeks, I will be having surgery to correct the problem and I should be back to the usual activity.

Whilst I have been inactive, I have considered elements of the blog that need editing, or total abolition. Therefore, I have concluded that:

– PMQs reports are henceforth abolished. I will continue to keep a record of PMQs discussion as always, but it will not be published on here. I have decided to keep the focus of my articles on specific subjects.
– More news reports on my activity with the Fabian Society will be reported. I have sadly neglected this often, and it should be reported.
– More news specific to the Greenwich and Woolwich CLP.
– More news on the situation with the University Of Greenwich Leftist Society, and the Greenwich Labour Students group that has been set up and affiliated to our society.

Thankyou for your contiuned support,

Rosie Hucklesby.

Some important announcements

Due to current health complications, I’m suspending this blog until further notice.

Since last week I have had severe abdominal pain and the trouble is worse than first thought. Today, I will most probably be referred to one of the local hospitals for extended treatment.

I hope to restart the blog as soon as I am fully recovered.

I would also like to pass on my sincere condolences to David and Samantha Cameron for the loss of their son. I can think of nothing more distressing than the loss of a child, therefore I shall divert thoughts and prayers to them at this sad time – and hope that many of my colleagues will too.

Thank you for your continued support and time,

Rosie Hucklesby.
